Hi Eliot,

How are you doing? I am stressed out from work as usual, you certainly
made the right choice of quitting your job for Steve. I realise that now
after having worked for him for ten (10!!!) years... That needs to change.

You might recall that I tried to repair my old laptop (Toshiba Satellite
1620CDS), which I successfully did, new hard drive and I think faster
processor, or perhaps something else, it all means very little to me. I
also put Windows 98 back again, but it is beginning to play up and I
always toyed with the idea of a unix based OS.

I tried Ubuntu and Xubuntu, neither of them are being installed
properly. I tried Mandriva, that seems to work, but is very slow. I am
looking for a simple and stable OS that has a decent graphical interface
from which you can run Firefox, Thunderbird, a music player, word
processor and imaging program. Have you got any clever thoughts?

I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks,
Kai

PS: I may appear somewhat desperate, having emailed you twice and posted it here on your forum, stalker-like qualities one could say...
Sorry about that, perhaps sums me up, though!
